    Lathe Brands, which are good?

Hello Folks my name is Bill, and I'm new to the site. I was wondering if you guys could tell me which is a good lathe brand to look for? I am new to this stuff although I used to work in a machine shop 10 yrs ago. So any help would and will be appreciated. Thanks. Bill

I don't know a ton about lathes, but I know LeBlond are good. There are others also - generally the older the better on a lot of these metal working machines (provided they have been maintained of course)

    Welcome to the site!

Thanks Cebby, This is 1 great forum.
Also to, thanks for your response. Now does anybody else have any other brands they would prefer? I think when I worked in the machine shop back in the day, I think the lathe I used was a Hardinge? Dont quote me on that tho.

Southbend is one of the more popular models also. I'm sure Scott will chime in - he's very knowledgeable about equipment.
