In my opinion, there is a place for cordless and corded tools. It seems a lot of people do not like the cordless circular saws. I agree that they are no good for cutting dozens of rafter tails or cutting 4x4s for a deck. But they come in very handy doing vinyl siding, underlayment and the like. Especially the siding when you don't have someone available to make all your cuts for you. I flip the blade around the wrong way to prevent chipping and bring it up the ladder with me. That way I can cut my pieces where I need them and not have to climb up and down the ladder a million and a half times to finish a gable end.
