    Craftsman Air Ratchet Q?

How hard is it to rebuild a Craftsman air ratchet 3/8 drive? Are they even worth rebuilding? I'm buying a set of airtools on ebay, and the air ratchet is "locked up". What come with it is worth what I'm bidding, but to get the rat-shit working would be a cool bonus.

If it's like other airtools, locked up usually means it's had a lot of water (from the airline) run through it and the venturi (not sure if that's the right term) is seized to the housing with rust. If you can knock it out, you could likely scotchbrite the parts, oil them up and throw it back together.

I think the common culprit on an air ratchet is the head - not the motor. I have never had one apart so I can not say for certain. Re-building it can't be all that difficult - finding parts might be troublesome.

I asked about that today when I went to Sears at lunch to trade in a couple rat-shits, and they said that parts are available for most stuff, but couldn't be more specific.
Sears is really going downhill fast.

I quit going to Sears 15 years ago.....

Now, I think it's only fair that you share photos of your recent E-bay affair....

I don't have a problem with Sears for the most part. They are plentiful when I need to grab something...

As soon as bidding is over, I will. Not that I don't trust you guys, but I'm not going to jinx myself.

I am set for hand tools - no competition from MXtras. I bid only on machines now.

I may hunt you down just for fun, though. Ha, Ha, Ha (in a very evil tone....)

Sorry - I am bored beyond belief here at work.

Nice score. Hell the shipping is almost as much as the winning bid. I can see why you didn't want to share earlier - smokin' deal!
