Woops! I just came across this sticky now. I guess "OFF TOPIC" is not my usual hangout.

I'm maxpower_hd, AKA Dave. I am always looking for tips on something or other. It's always good to have someplace to search or ask questions to see what common mistakes have already been made before starting a new project.

    See ya around the boards.

    Hi everyone!]
    So, HI!

EMF - my initials, also the source of my income for some 40 years before I retired; Lineman, Electrician, Millwright, built and maintained power lines, substations and switchyards. I stumbled across the site, liked the atmosphere, though I'd ask if I could hang out. My interests are mechanical things - 'legtricity thingies, of course, cars - hot rods/street rods/lead sleds, firearms and other things such as go bang or boom. Started turning wrenches when I was a kid, and never got over it, I guess; fixin' sumthin', or building something, or even bustin' somethin' is still therapeutic for me. My wife, of 42+ years, now, used to say that when I retired, I was going to open up an "Emmitt's Fixit Shop", a'la Mayberry RFD, where everything was fixed by the appropriate application of a hammer.

I am usually pretty quiet, but can be a real rachet jaw sometimes. So, if youall don't mind, I'll just hang out here, and

    Awesome!

Having an electrician around is a good thing - Tom Welds hasn't made an appearance in quite a while!

    Welcome a'board!

Welcome EMF! Glad you found our little corner of the web here.

Yeah, whatever happened to Mr. Welds (last online 2/14/06). Maybe he forgot Valentine's Day and the Mrs. cranked him with a skillet...

I've been doing a bunch of web stuff, so I haven't had anything interesting to post lately. That should change very soon though.
