    Re: Show us your toolboxes!!!

Damn, Nitsuj - we really gotta do something about those straps you are using....

I don't want anyone to see my tool boxes. I haven't bought a new box since I was about 17 and I used to work on diesels and ships so they are all pretty beat up. I only have one bottom cabinet but I have three top chests - I worked at a fleet service place during the week and a ship service place on the weekends at one time, so I had a box at each place and one at home.

The box I use the most is for the bikes - a small portable job that has everything needed to perform anything on my bikes - including splitting the cases or rebuilding the forks or shock.

Anyway - the pic is a frame for a home build job. The pic was taken about 3 months ago but it looks the same today - I haven't had a chance to get back to work on it. I did not want to go too big with it - I think it be a good size when it's done. If not - I will build another. The drawer slides are going to get expensive but I am going to end up with a heavier-duty box than you can buy from anyone when it's done.

Hey! Those are gen-u-wine Harley Straps, thats what they use to tie them into steel pallets they ship them on. The rear stand holds it pretty stable, the straps are just there to be sure. I heard there was some hotshot down south dreaming up some sort of clamp thing, but he's only interested in those silly dirtbikes and Harleys....

Actually - thanks to a bit of thought re-alignment by Wyoming, I think the above toolbox frame will become my milling tool organizer. It's probably large enough for a tool box for most of my more common hand tools, but after I finished constructing it, I thought it was a bit small......converting it's intended use to organize cutters and milling related stuff is a good fit.

Too small or too much stuff?

Forget that last statement - there's no such thing as too much stuff!!!!

Nice assortment - obviously from years of collecting. I am not quite that diverse in my tooling selection for the mill.

Damn Wyoming, you have more invested in mill tooling than I do in my house!

Without showing the reamers, burrs and counterbores its difficult to show what around $300-$350 bought in various eBay auctions several years back when the economy back east took a dump, wages got too high, real estate taxes to onerous and almost all heavy manufacturing moved offshore, but those shots are just part of the take. Most are either new or resharpened with a smattering of junk as well. Got it all while the going was good...at least for me. Don't even want to think what it would do to my bankbook nowadays.
