    not sure i can help much but i've seen the welded aluminum from people with the 180...just curiously does it have high freq start? if not that could be a part of it.

    I see the 625 goin for around $1600 around here...for 1379 esabs got the handyplasma 550 which does 1/2" like the 625 or they have the 650 for 1550 which does 5/8 and severs 3/4s...the powermax 600...

    They've got a store here in Bellingham, one in Pennsylvania and one in Missouri. I'm not sure where you are so if you're not near one of those places you have to order. As far as noise level...

    Yep all you need is wire, a breaker and an outlet...I've got 3 or 4 of em in my garage and it took all of a couple hours to do em. you could even skip the outlet and just hardwire it.

    Gotta have an Ace, Ice pack, Tape, Gauze, suture kit, IV start kit wait I you can leave the last 2 inside :D ...I prefer the grab wound and run inside method tho :bananalam

    The hitachis are quite nice...at least the ones I've seen/used are. They seem to have better power then the dewalt and makita I've tried
