  1. Re: Corian/Solid Surfacing machining and bonding

Corian works a lot like wood. Can use a god carbide blade in circular saw and then use a belt sander to scribe it to the wall if needed.
  2. Re: Homemade fluid pump for trans and diff fluid

    No problem!

They are great for diffs, I used to use one of those hand pumps that screws onto the gallon jugs but it always leaked and was messy and my arm was killing after 5 minutes of pumping...
  3. Homemade fluid pump for trans and diff fluid

Another one of my homemade tools I made in the last couple of weeks. It started with a trans swap I did for a buddy on his 04 lincoln aviator with the 5R55S sealed tranny. To fill this thing you...

    Homemade coolant system pressure tester

Well it's not 100% homemade but I consider it homemade. I really like making my own tools anytime I can, for the cost savings and also the pride factor, and just because I really like to "engineer"...

Re: Anyone here play with molding plastics?

Seems like the hardest part would be the mold. What is the best way to make a mold for a part you can't copy, an original part?

    What happened to the forums?

This used to be one of my favorite sites to check in and to ask questions on because there was so much knowledge on here. Seems like over the last six months or so there hasn't been any posts at...

    Re: coil spring compressor

Well I'm sorry it took a year to complete but it compressed it's first spring today!

I finished up the upper arms and tried it out today, and it worked great. I bolted the upper arms on for now...

Re: best way to cut this

I would like it as clean as possible but also realise that perfection isn't going to come from the options I have.

I have thought about drilling a series of holes and cutting between them but I...

Re: My Garage and My Introduction

Looks nice and clean. From what I read it sounds like you have 5 panels in/on your house? How many outside receps you have that it needs a dedicated panel? I like the LV conduit to switch out to...

    Re: hardware storage

Nice cabinet. I priced those panels out from grainger and if I remember right they were kind of pricey. I also wondered how stable they would be with the longer bins like the 10" or 18" bins loaded...
  20. Re: New Home Construction - the do's and don'ts thread

That's a nice clean manifold setup Glenn. I like using manifolds and running a line to each fixture instead of running a 3/4" or 1" main and branching off with 1/2" to fixtures like you do with...
  21. Re: New Home Construction - the do's and don'ts thread

I do enjoy plumbing, mostly the new stuff. Replacing the old drains and making repairs for family and friends isn't always the funnest time.

I have tried to learn as much as I could about how...
  22. Re: New Home Construction - the do's and don'ts thread

The house is looking good. Good luck on the kitchen contest, if nothing else it gave you motivation to get it done. I know sometimes I start something and get bored and it takes longer if there is...

    Re: Nail Gun Rebuild?

I looked for those links but couldn't find them.

Rebuilding is not that hard, just taking it apart and cleaning everything and putting the new orings in. And trigger if you need to.

    Most guns...
