Re: Glad to see us back online!

I'm excited to have the site back up - as soon as the weather breaks a little and there's a break in basketball season for my kids, I've got a bunch of projects lined up.

I've gotten some off of eBay before and they worked well. I just did a quick search and didn't recognize any of the sellers. The ones I had gotten were the blue zirconia version. My Makita takes...

    Re: Metal Cutting

+/- 3/8" is way too big of a tolerance, I don't care what it is. There are other vendors better than that out there. What are you having cut?

Air hose run from compressor to blast cabinet

Looks like I'll be borrowing a decent 2-stage compressor soon and will have about a 25 ft run from the compressor to my blast cabinet.

Do I want to use 3/8" or 1/2" hose to get there? (all...

Re: Chop saw vs. Cold saw

Those thicknesses are fine. I was cutting a 5 core hollow that measured 80 x 100mm that was about 5 lb per foot (essentially 1/4" and 3/8" webbing throughout) without an issue - made a lot of cuts...

Re: Chop saw vs. Cold saw

That seems pretty sweet. I don't know how slow a cold saw should be, but that seems reasonably slow.

No coolant used would lead me to believe that the blade won't last long on steel.

    FWIW, I...

Re: What happened to the forums?

Some weird crap happened to the forum due to the DST settings and the server (I think this happened last year too).

www.toolandfab.com still works for me, so maybe just a short term glitch?
