Thanks.....I used a very popular one form the Hobart board built by BillDaCatt as a starting point and I wanted to paint it but I have gotten very tired of black ,blue ,and yellow so I went with an "old school" look as I call it......flat black and beige rims....

Mike, thanks for the info on the breaker amperage. Also as Cebby said about the cart, ditto from me on that. It's great looking cart.

well i finally picked up my hobart 187. she's a real beauty. i am just reading all the lit. right now and admiring it as i read.
they had miller plazma cutter there, but they wouldn't throw it in.lol
it was one that was to drool for. can't tell you what model. though it was quite large to me. about three times the size of the 187. it was real nice though. it was about $3500.00 can.
if i bought that plazma cutter i'd be living out of a cardboard box right now. so got to keep that happy medium and keep the boss happy too. but then again i'm not complaining, just happy to have the hh187.

i am wondering if this a good idea or not.
what i was thinking was when i wire in my hh187, to instead of putting the box in the wall. that i would make it like an extention cord with the box at the end, approx. 10 feet in length.
i hope you know what i'm trying to say.
to me it would be no different than running it in the wall, only that it would give you more flexability as to where you can weld.
    or am i wrong?
or is it wise to only keep it a certain length and wire the box to the wall?
it's all new to me, so any feed back would be great.
    thanks .

Oooops! I did not see this until now.

    Sorry, Bob!

What did you end up doing and how is everything working out?

    Hi Scott.
What i did is put on a plugin box on the wall by the panel and made an extension cord about 15 long, and plug into that if i need to weld further away. I'm no electrician, but it looks good and works great. I used a very heavy cable for the extension, but can't remember off hand what size. I am pretty sure it is over kill. Whether that is good or bad i don't know. It made it a bit tougher to wire the male plugs b/c it was so thick. But it all works great.

    Bob.
