    Scott,
Do a search for Unigrinder. Might be the machine you are looking for if you want to spend some time cranking out the parts for it. Here's a shot from their site.

Pay attention, Driven - that's what the Smurfs are for. No motor required!

And a home-brewed version of the Beaumont sander:

    Scott-
I think its time to build one. If the person with the pony tail (Is that a dude or a chick?) can do it, you can too. And it will be color coordinating. Probably better than what you can buy, for 1/4 of the price.

5 year warranty - nice! A little different, and likely pretty expensive, but another option:

Yeah - I have a design started (not much of a challenge, actually!) and I already have most everything needed - a 3/4HP, 3450RPM motor, steel plate, tubing, aluminum, urethane and a bunch of various EM quality bearings. It's just that I need to stop building crap and start making progress on the product!

Not sure if I will build or not. I am debating my real need for a sander like the ones shown in this thread. I may just hold off until I can't live without one, then go at all this again. Until then, I will continue to dump links to whatever I find here in this thread.

Like this link - pretty HD stuff, lots of big grinders, etc:

This link comes to us (apparently) from the UK, but nice selection of decent looking stuff -
