Alright thanks Cebby that makes sense now.
How much do those cutters cost you have?

I think I got that set for around $150. My shaper is a Delta 3hp that was around $1500 a few years back...

Wow, the shaper costs a bit more than I thought!
    Thanks for the help.

    Cebby,
You are a better man than me! I have the same 3 hp PC plunge router as you and use it almost exclusively in a router table. Even with soft start that thing takes a certain hari-kari stance once the trigger has been pulled. Bought the Bosch set and love them for freehand and guided work. Come to think of it...also have the Bosch laminate installers kit as well. Great little router, but I could have thought up an easier bit change method than stuffing one of the two wrenches through the router's motor head like Bosch devised.

Question for you...do you use pilot bearing guided bits or vaseline and old style solid shank piloted bits for laminate work? I'm just about convinced to never purchase another bearing guided bit as long as Vaseline is still on the market.

I only use pilot bearing trimmer bits when I want to burn some laminate...

It took me burning through a few self edges to finally see the light.

For those that don't knwo what we are talking about:

    These with some vaseline lube:

Are much better than these for trimming laminate:

Bearings have a tendency to burn the laminate...
