Thread: Metal Cutting

    Question Metal Cutting

I ordered some custom-cut brass from a company online. They claim that the machine they use to cut it could be off +/- 3/8". I don't see how this could be.

How do typical metal fabrication machines work? Are they all built with a crap-shoot approach like that? Seems to me that if the machine doesn't cut something the size you set it at, a new machine is in order.

+/- 3/8" is way too big of a tolerance, I don't care what it is. There are other vendors better than that out there. What are you having cut?
